2011 Summer Camp Film Festival - Congrats to Camp Gideon - this year's 1st Place Winner!

Ultimate Camp Resource proudly hosted the 1st Annual Summer Camp Film Festival to showcase your creativity and your camp program. Thanks to our partner, Summergy Media, the camp industry's leading production company specializing in promotional videos for summer camps.

Camp folks were invited to create and submit a summer camp video related to the theme of "Retention" - videos designed to get current campers and families excited about returning to camp. Some sample themes (and a couple sample videos) include: "See What's New," "See Who's Back," Short Films, Movie Trailers, and other creative ideas. Films were judged as follows: 50% Overall Effectiveness, 25% Technical Quality, 25% # pageviews. Thanks as well to our celebrity judges: Charles Disney, John Altobello, Shane Miskin, Gary Forster, Joanna Warren Smith, Mike D'avria, Curt "Moose" Jackson, and Travis Allison.

Want to be famous? If you have a fun camp staff photo that captures the essence of summer camp, and would like to appear on the site, please send us a high resolution jpeg or gif image. We would like to rotate the pictures on the new front page periodically with real camp folks and give our faithful camps a chance to share the limelight.

Link of the month: Clone Wars Camp
A great pop culture theme resource based on the Star Wars Clone Wars movies from Lucasfims. The kit takes so many of your favorite camp activities and puts a Clone Wars Spin on them. The kit is free and is really is a must see! Special congratulations to Jeff Merhige from Camp Kern for his involvement.
