Staff and Campers dress up as they did in the 50's and then you have a 50's dance (a Sock Hop). It's fun to see the kids with slicked back hair, poodle dresses, etc.
Also, have activities that were originated in the 50's (allegedly...) , such as Bubble Gum Bubble Blowing Contest, Hoola Hoop Contest, Twist (by Chubby Checker) Contest, Root Beer Floats, etc.
We also did a Drive-in Movie Night, and had campers make "cars" out of boxes and set up a projector and big screen outside on an overnight.
