Description

The Music Composition Camp will take place from 9 a.m. - noon, June 4-8. Young music students are invited to the campus for four mornings of musical activities.
A week-long camp workshop that will include
instruction for all levels and classical styles of
composition ranging from baroque to
contemporary. Instruction is geared toward
nurturing composers by bringing forth their
musical ideas and demonstrating notation
software that will aid in their development.
Although the Composition Camp attracts
advanced and intermediate students, we
would like to encourage beginning students
with private lesson experience to take their
turn at composing and notation. All you need
is a pencil and staff paper (provided).
How to correctly notate a simple melody will be
addressed. An instructor will play what
you write on the piano and give ideas for
better clarity of notation and projection of ideas.
